Indique Hair Launches A Maryland Boutique Location. Beauty blogging on the go!

Indique Hair Launches A Maryland Boutique Location

A leading premium hair extension brand called Indique celebrated an official grand opening of its 12th boutique location, on Saturday in Silver Spring, Maryland. If you are not familiar with the brand, Indique's other free-standing boutiques are located in Brooklyn, Soho, Pelham & Little Neck in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Boston and even South Africa. Additionally, Indique's headquarters are based in India. There is no middle man, when it comes to Indique's business model. A culture of collaboration is partially evidenced by the fast growing company's invitation for haircare professionals to join their Partner Stylist Program. Participating salons are listed on Indique's website. Discounts and cash back incentives are also offered, after paying a one-time fee. Thus, it was no surprise that live models were featured, and stylists mingled with every day fashionistas who were in attendance.

Indique offers a wide selection of human hair textures that can be used by customers of diverse ethnicities. Their impressive client base consists of Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga, Kelly Rowland, Lala Vasquez, Gabrielle Union, Rihanna, Ciara, Jill Scott, Brandy and others. However, local women lined up outside, well before the special ribbon cutting ceremony that began at 1:00. Ten lucky winners smiled and clapped as they walked across a pink carpet, stepping inside of the store to redeem a free tube of virgin human hair. Hair extension chatter sounded like a hip way to compliment a woman's style. No stigma of using added hair was observable.

Indique Hair International states that it provides 100 percent  human hair that is natural and of the highest quality. The brand offers  virgin hair that can compliment various hair textures. PURE, Bounce, HYSTERIA, STUDIO COLLECTION, KERATIQUE and SEA are names of their exclusive hair collections. Customers happily received 20 percent off of today's purchases. According to a price list that I was shown, $160 for 10 inches of extension hair per tube was a noted price point.

Indique's Silver Spring free-standing boutique fuses fashion with a relaxed style. General consumers may find the space intimate yet ample. Samples of hair on display can be touched and examined. The brand's selection accommodates customers who want to sew or clip in extra tresses. Additionally, hair can be customized by mostly any capable stylist. It is important to keep in mind that stylists are not available to install the product on site at Indique. It must be taken to a stylist of the customer's own choosing. Each tube includes a description of the selected hair. I was informed that most customers may need to purchase 2 of them. To achieve an extremely voluminous look, 3 may be needed instead.

In order to provide a more thorough analysis of Indique's products, I spoke with several models and stylists about their opinions about Indique Virgin Hair Extensions.

"I did some styling with it for the first time, when I was presented with an opportunity. I do like the Pure line. I used Pure Curly and Pure Wavy. I haven't used all of the lines yet, but my personal preference was the Pure Wavy. It holds the curl a lot longer as opposed to if you were to get straight," LaNyce Oldham of Funk Salon in Baltimore said.

She previously heard about Indique through social media. The Fishnet is on her list to try next. LaNyce said that it would be quicker, since a full install wouldn't be required, although the look of a lot of body could still be achieved.

Shanae Blunt, another featured stylist, specializes in hair weaving. She works next door at Headlines Hair Designers.

"The Organic Curl is a good product. The weft is not as thick as some providers, so it's easier to install. The hair is 100 percent human hair, so you can't go wrong with it," she remarked.

Ms. Blunt also added, "I've had a client who has used the same hair for 3 years. With proper treatment like washing, conditioning and not abusing it or putting too much heat on it at home, the (Indique) hair has lasted."

The stylist also mentioned the importance of taking care of hair underneath. A highlight of Indique's launch was that everyone from stylists and hair models to members of their public relations team wore extensions from collections. Each could provide personal feedback while recommending Indique. Shanae Blunt's response to my question about shedding was that she hadn't experienced it in the 3 weeks that she'd had Indique's hair added to hers, but the texture of hair that is selected for styling can impact the amount of it.

What is a current, hot look?

"The Deep Wave is classic. Because of the Kardashians, everyone wants that look. It's classic with a 70's twist," Ms. Blunt replied.

She also mentioned The Beach Wave. Both LaNyce and Shanae agreed that  Bounce Organic Curl would respond well in humid weather. According to the experts, it typically blends well for those with highly textured hair.

Indique is already positioned to accomodate customers from D.C., Maryland  and Virginia. I wish their team well as they develop new relationships in our area.

YOUNG VISIONARY GOT KIDS MOVIN' AT THE BOULEVARD

"Are y'all ready for my sister, Chi Chi Monet?" an energetic girl asked the crowd.
After cheers filled the air, the star of the show arrived cloaked in confidence and a relaxed demeanor.
"What's up, ya'll? Ya'll like school?" Chi Chi Monet questioned, moving around the stage in bright sneakers.

On an unexpectedly warm, sunny Saturday at Prince George's County's The Boulevard at the Capital Centre, the duo rapped about school being cool, and the ugliness of bullying. Shortly thereafter, Chi Chi Monet impressed the crowd by performing her upbeat anthem, "Move." The ten-year-old recording artist, cheerleader, gymnast and dancer reportedly felt inspired to take action to address childhood obesity, after learning information from the Obama Administration’s “Let’s Move” initiative. Chi Chi Monet's toe-tapping tune may have been created to inspire youth to be active and practice healthy eating habits, but she is evolving into a change agent for children, their families and the community at large. Collaborating with Sports Zone Elite, the original DC Sneaker Store, and Think Brown INK has obviously inspired noteworthy traction, during her tour. Natasha Brown, CEO of the highly regarded company, Think Brown INK,  helped to create an interactive experience for attendees.

Get Kids Movin was a thoughtfully executed blend of eclectic performances, jump rope, hula hoop, zumba, workout sessions, games, vendor displays and a fashion show that was presented by Sports Zone Elite with Angelic Expressions Models.

DJ MIM kept the music cranking while zumba sessions led by Kena Hodges inspired youth, parents, toddlers and grandparents to catch zumba fever. Nike celebrity fitness trainer, Deanna Jefferson, pulled minature weights from a bag. She smiled as she passed out balls and helped kids slip on boxing gloves. Soul/R&B singer Reesa Renee, who recently wrapped up her Wonderland Cool Tour at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, also showed her support.

Amidst body wrap chatter and tutu vendor displays, a representative of Gold's Gym informed attendees that a two floor, 35,000 square foot facility will open at The Boulevard in December. Fitness enthusiasts, zumba, pilates, yoga lovers and even kids will be welcome. New customers signed up for $29.99 monthly memberships, enjoying the benefit of a waived $129.00 enrollment fee, and no payment being due until doors open in the future.

I commend management at The Boulevard for allowing kids, families and parents to convene there to celebrate fitness. Chi Chi Monet's peers parted with jump ropes, bags, t-shirts and tips about how to keep moving at home while having fun. The young performer is certainly making a healthy difference already.
